Monte Santa Rita occupies a secluded part of Herdade da Saudade. Surrounded by open countryside and removed from everything you do not need, it was created for those who want the intimacy of an entire house, shared only with family or friends.

Around 50 minutes from Lisbon, close to Arraiolos and Évora, it retains the simplicity of a traditional Alentejo country house, reimagined with contemporary comfort.

The main house has two suites, a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room and a quiet reading corner. All accommodation spaces are air-conditioned. Just a few steps away, a separate guest house provides a third suite, allowing everyone to stay together while still enjoying a little privacy.

Outside, shaded verandas become a natural extension of the house. A place for long lunches, a book in the shade, or simply sitting and watching the landscape.

And there is a circular saltwater pool, reserved exclusively for Monte Santa Rita guests.

There are no other guests to share the space with. For the duration of your stay, this small corner of the Herdade is entirely yours.

Beyond the house, there is still everything else to explore: paths through the land, animals, small reservoirs and ponds where wildlife gathers around the water, great granite formations, small caves and a landscape shaped by a history far older than our own.

On arrival, a basket from the Herdade welcomes you with produce from the land and regional flavours.

In the morning, open the house to the countryside. At night, close the doors and let the silence in.
